Tropf Blumat Systems: The Future of Drip Irrigation

Tropf Blumat Systems are the future of drip irrigation, allowing each plant to determine its own irrigation schedule. The innovative design of these systems enables precise and efficient watering, ensuring your plants receive the exact amount of moisture they require.

How it Works: Each Tropf Blumat is filled with water and void of air prior to being connected to a pressurized line (gravity-feed pressure is adequate). The water inside the Blumat is in a completely sealed environment, with the only exposure being through the porous ceramic cone.

As the soil surrounding the cone dries, it pulls on the moisture inside the cone through osmotic pressure. Since this is a sealed environment, the pressure cannot equalize, which in turn pulls on a plastic diaphragm in the top of the Blumat. When the diaphragm is pulled down, it allows an irrigation tube running through the top of the valve to open and emit moisture, gradually restoring the moisture to the surrounding soil. This process continues, allowing each plant to determine its own watering schedule.

The brown knob on top of each Tropf Blumat can be individually calibrated to suit specific plant species, strains, or growing media.

Gravity Kit: The Gravity Kit comes with step-by-step instructions, and all you need to complete the system is to provide your own reservoir, such as a 5-gallon bucket. Confirm that you have the ability to raise your reservoir near your plants.

12 Plant Irrigation Box Kit: Designed to water areas up to 3.5 square meters, or 12 potted plants, this kit comes with 12 Blumat carrots (5"), 7 meters (23 feet) of 8mm tubing, a tee splitter, an elbow splitter, a hose coupler, a hose end-piece, and a rain barrel/gravity tank connector. Blumat systems can adjust to any plant type or desired moisture level, making this kit suitable for a wide range of applications.
